Pune: The state anti-corruption bureau (ACB), Pune, on Friday arrested a senior and a junior geologist from the Groundwater Survey Development Agency while accepting Rs 2 lakh as a bribe from a builder to provide him with a groundwater survey report for his project.The ACB, led by inspector Suhad Hattekar, laid a trap at the Groundwater Survey Development Agency in Shivajinagar and took the junior geologist, Priyanka Ghule, into custody while accepting the bribe on behalf of the senior geologist, Diwakar Dhote. Ghule and Dhote were arrested in the case.An officer from the ACB said that the complainant is the builder. He applied for the completion certificate for his project with the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA). He was told to submit a groundwater survey report by the PMRDA. The builder then approached the Groundwater Survey Development Agency and applied for the report. "Ghule demanded Rs 2.5 lakh on behalf of Dhote to give the report. On April 22, the complainant met Dhote at his office, who agreed to accept Rs 2 lakh," the officer said.He said that the ACB on Friday laid a trap at his office and took them into custody on the charge of accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakh, he said.eom\mt
