Some in BJP forcing cops to invoke MCOCA against me: Dhangekar

Pune: Shiv Sena's Pune unit chief Ravindra once again targeted members of the alliance partner, the BJP. He claimed that some of them are trying to force the Pune police to invoke MCOCA against him.Dhangekar was recently advised by deputy chief minister and Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde to avoid any conflict with the alliance partner. Within 24 hours of Shinde's advice, Dhangekar took to criticising the BJP. "I am not speaking against the BJP. I am only raising questions related to the declining law and order in Pune city. My sole intention is to raise my voice against the menace of gangs operating in Pune. On this issue, my party chief is supportive of me," Dhangekar said.The Sena's city unit chief accused the BJP of targeting him through its IT cell. "A sinister campaign is being carried out against me by the BJP's IT cell where not only me but also my family members are being baited," Dhangekar said on Monday.He had recently accused cabinet minister and senior BJP member Chandrakant Patil of being silent on the firing incident involving gangster Nilesh Ghaywal's members in Kothrud last month. Patil represents the Kothrud assembly constituency. Dhangekar also accused one Sameer Patil, claiming that he is close to the minister and has connections with Ghaywal. Sameer Patil has said he will send a legal notice to Dhangekar.Unhappy BJP members objected to the Sena city unit chief's allegations. Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, during his visit to Pune recently, said that he would speak to Dhangekar's party chief. Shinde visited Pune on Sunday, where he advised Dhangekar not to criticise BJP members while addressing issues pertaining to Pune.
