Six held, three detained after violent gang clash in Bhosari MIDC

Pune: The Bhosari MIDC police on Monday arrested six persons, including a woman, and detained three minors after two groups attacked each other following an old rivalry.The incident happened late on Sunday night at Khande Vasti in Bhosari MIDC. Six persons sustained injuries in the incident. The police registered two separate cases of murder attempt against the accused.
A 52-year-old resident of Khande Vasti, who sustained severe head injuries in the attack, stated in his complaint that a gang of eight persons, including three minors, attacked him with sticks and iron rods following an old dispute. When his relatives rushed to help him, the accused attacked them too. Two of them suffered injuries in the attack.A case was registered under Section 109 (murder attempt), 189, 190 and 191 (rioting) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against the accused persons. "We arrested one of the attackers and detained three minors. We issued notices to the minors," an officer from the Bhosari MIDC police said.The officer said that one of the minors also lodged a complaint against five persons, including a woman, stating that the accused assaulted him and his two friends with stones and iron pipes. "We arrested five of them on the charge of murder attempt," the officer said.
