Full double-decker flyover opening
The entire double-decker flyover near SPPU in Pune will be fully opened to traffic on Jan 15, offering a long-awaited solution to congestion along the Shivajinagar-Aundh-Baner-Pashan corridor.
Partial ramps already operational
The Shivajinagar-Aundh ramp is already in use, giving partial relief to commuters, while the Baner-end ramp is set for completion by Dec-end, and the Pashan ramp will be ready early next year, completing the flyover.

Metro Line-3 single-phase operation
PMRDA’s 23.3-km fully elevated Hinjawadi-Shivajinagar Metro Line-3 will open in a single phase by March 2026, connecting 23 stations seamlessly with the existing network, despite requests for a phased opening.
Metro construction progress
Construction of 10 Metro Line-3 stations has already been completed. The project is being developed in partnership with Tata Group-led Pune IT City Metro Rail Ltd, and will strengthen Pune’s urban transit network.
Construction timeline
The flyover construction began in August 2022 after PMRDA approved a supplementary concession agreement with the Metro concessionaire. Officials confirmed that the project is on track, adhering strictly to the set timelines.
Mhalunge-Maan town planning approval
The long-delayed Mhalunge-Maan scheme, originally announced in 2018, is expected to receive approvals soon, clearing the way for development and attracting investor interest.
Expedited town planning projects
Once the Mhalunge-Maan scheme is approved, PMRDA plans to fast-track clearances for at least 15 other pending town planning projects, aiming to accelerate urban development in the region.
Traffic congestion relief expected
Once fully operational, the flyover will ease heavy traffic along Ganeshkhind Road and the wider Shivajinagar-Aundh-Baner-Pashan corridor, which faced daily jams due to prolonged construction activities.
