Pune Porsche crash: Too many long ropes given to accused teen to escape punishment?

NEW DELHI: On May 19, a tragic incident occurred in Pune's Kalyani Nagar when a Porsche, allegedly driven by an intoxicated 17-year-old, collided with a motorcycle, resulting in the deaths of two individuals.

Father tells doctor to change blood samples
According to Pune police, the blood samples of the juvenile were replaced on the instructions of Dr Taware and Dr Halnor of Sassoon Hospital. The father of the accused teen contacted the doctors and instructed them to replace the blood samples.
The blame game
The parents and grandfather of a 17-year-old boy, who crashed his sports car into a bike, resulting in the deaths of two IT professionals in Pune, instructed their driver to tell the police that he was the one driving.
The essay outrage
Anger grew after the teenager, who allegedly killed two people while driving drunk, was initially ordered to write an essay and work with traffic police as punishment. Many demanded a harsher penalty, accusing the judiciary of leniency.
Following the public outcry, the minor’s lawyer, Prashant Patil, informed reporters on Wednesday that the bail terms had been modified. The Juvenile Justice Board ordered the teen to stay in a rehabilitation home until June 5, where he will receive counseling, Patil said.
Victim family mourns
The parents of the victims in the car accident in Pune, Maharashtra, demanded severe punishment for both the accused boy and his parents, holding them accountable for their children's deaths.
"We were supposed to send her off in a palanquin (to the groom's house) after her marriage (in future), but now we were forced to carry her body on a bier," Ashwini's inconsolable mother Mamata Koshta told PTI in Jabalpur after performing her last rites.
