PUNE: The Alankar police on Tuesday arrested a 33-year-old man and detected seven cases, including three burglaries and four vehicle thefts. Police found gold and silver ornaments and four stolen vehicles, collectively worth Rs 2.96 lakh, on Shamsuddin Jambuwale. He is a resident of Sahawas Society in Karvenagar.
An Alankar police team, led by assistant inspector Sandip Buwa, arrested Jambuwale following a tip-off that he would come near a restaurant in Karvenagar.

"We laid a trap and took him into custody. During questioning, Jambuwale admitted to his involvement in burglaries and vehicle thefts," Buwa said.
"We have detected three burglaries - two registered with the Alankar police and one with the Lonikand police. We recovered 60g of gold and 500g silver ornaments from him," he added.
Police also recovered three bikes and an autorickshaw from Jambuwale. "He used to steal the bikes for joyrides and abandon them after emptying fuel," Buwa said. Jambuwale has burglary cases against him with the Alankar, Kothrud and the Warje Malwadi police.
