PUNE: The Pune cyber police on Saturday night registered a case of defamation against

for uploading a defamatory and abusive text targeting Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) supremo Sharad Pawar, following a complaint by a party office-bearer Babasaheb Patil (37) of Dattawadi.

Senior police inspector (SPI) DS Hake of Pune police’s cybercrime cell told TOI, “We have registered a case of defamation and promoting enmity between different groups against her. Further investigation is on.”

Chitale is in the custody of the Thane police following her arrest on Saturday in a similar case registered there.

The Pimpri Chinchwad police further filed another case against her on similar charges.

In fact, Nashik city cyber police on Sunday also booked

after NCP Nashik women’s cell president Pradnya Balkwade registered the case against her with local cops there.

Pune police also registered a case of defamation and causing enmity against a Twitter handle user for issuing threats to the NCP supremo. Prashant Jagtap, city unit chief of the NCP, lodged a complaint against the Twitter user.
