PUNE: Two people were killed and another suffered critical injuries when a car crashed under the Bund Garden Metro Station area in Pune early on Sunday, police said.
The deceased were identified as cousins — Yash Prasad Bhandari (23), a resident of Thergaon in Pimpri-Chinchwad, and Ritvik alias Om Vinayak Bhandari (23), a resident of Pimprigaon in Pune.
According to Pune City Police, the incident occurred around 5.30 am when the car was travelling along the Bund Garden stretch.
The injured passenger, Khushwant Tekwani, has been admitted to Sassoon Hospital in a critical condition.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Tekwani is a resident of Beed district, police added.
