Pune: A quarrel between two homeless men led to one of them setting the other on fire around 12.45am on Monday near the Mutheshwar temple in Shaniwar Peth.
The victim, Milind Hoskuti (38), sustained burn injuries to his hands, Vishrambaug police said and added that the attacker,
Nitin Pandit (59) has been arrested on the charge of attempted murder.
Inspector Dada Gaikwad told TOI, “Hoskuti and Pandit beg alms or do some minor jobs near Omkareshwar Temple. Both of them sleep near Mutheshwar temple. They use discarded garments and banners to make their beds or to create a temporary shed.” “Late on Sunday, the two had an argument over a sleeping spot. After the argument, Pandit left the spot. He returned and threw a banner on Hoskuti and sprinkled liquor on him before setting him ablaze,” Gaikwad said. He was admitted to Sassoon general hospital. TNN
