An Indo-Chinese music concert, organized with the help of Chinese embassy and the Musicians Federation of India, will create awareness about Mission Safe Food Pune on Friday.

PUNE: An Indo-Chinese music concert, organized with the help of Chinese embassy and the Musicians Federation of India, will create awareness about Mission Safe Food Pune on Friday.
Three Chinese musicians, Ji Jie on Chinese violin, Liu Yuening on Chinese santoor, and Cui Junzhi on Chinese harp will arrive from China on Friday, accompanied by Indian musicians flautist Sunil Verma, violinist Deepak Pandit, and Bhawani brothers playing the Indian rhythm.

Music lovers will get to see the Chinese harp, which is 6 ft high and is especially used for meditation.
Shashikant Kekare, joint commissioner, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), said "We are thankful to the federation and embassy for accepting our offer to perform in Pune. Music has always proved to be the best medium to spread the word. We are confident that our message of 'Mission Safe Food' will reach the right audience."
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has rolled out an ambitious food safety plan in the city, 'Mission Safe Food Pune', to set an example in entire Maharashtra regarding food safety and hygiene.
Under this plan, the FDA in association with catering firms will initiate mass training and orientation in food handling and hygiene practices which will be imparted to all restaurants owners, kitchen operators from various hotels and basic food cart owners.
