Modern technology to help clean up drainage chambers

at an annual cost of Rs1.35 crore.


The services include operation and maintenance of vehicle mounted suction-cum-jetting machine with recycling facility for cleaning of sewer lines. The high-velocity sewer cleaner makes use of water jets to remove and dislodge obstructions.

The contractors would provide proper training to workers for operating machinery and cleaning of chambers and sewer lines. The workers would not come in contact with sludge or sewage waste.

All workers would be provided with identity cards. Only trained workers would be allowed to go into manholes. “The toxic fumes, dust or any other

inflammable material

emanating from manholes should be checked by a competent person or authority,” officials stated.

The workers would wear uniforms, goggles, breathing apparatus, safety belts for their safety, officials said. The contractors would be responsible if any accident occurs on site.
