Govt in Maharashtra will change in next 2 months, says NCP (SCP) chief Sharad Pawar

PUNE: Nationalist Congresssd Party (SCP) chief Sharad Pawar on Saturday said at a public rally in Ahmednagar district that the political scenario was all set to transform in the state with a change in govt in the next two months.

He said, "I have been travelling the lengths and breadths of Maharashtra for the last many months. I have noticed that people want a change, which will definitely come in the next two months. Once we form the govt, we will ensure that no tehsil or part of the state is deprived of any development."

Addressing a public rally at grandnephew Rohit Pawar's Karjat-Jamkhed constituency, Pawar hinted at elevating him in state politics after the assembly polls.

"When we had formed the govt in 2019, supporters had approached me and they has said that Rohit's name was missing from the list of ministers (in the MVA govt). I told them that it is not right to expect a cabinet berth immediately after winning one's first election. Rohit has given his last five years to the people of Karjat-Jamkhed, but his next few years will be for entire Maharashtra," he said. Pawar also accused the Mahayuti govt of creating hurdles in development work of MLAs of opposition parties in their respective constituencies.

"I find it extremely strange that when some politicians got elected in the past, they did not bother to do any work for the people of their constituency. Now, when other elected representatives are making efforts towards development of their people, the former elected representatives are creating various sort of hurdles instead of appreciating and supporting the work. However, there is no need to worry. The political scenario of the state will change in the next two months," Pawar added.
