He is followed by Soundarya Kumar Pradhan of Odisha on five points. Six players, including third seed Aryan Joshi of Mumbai, are joint third on 4.5 points in this nine-round Swiss League event.
Joshi’s win over top seed Darpan Inani of Gujarat was the highlight of the sixth round.
Fifth seed Pradhan ended a good run of Tamil Nadu’s R Gopi with white pieces on the third board.
