PUNE: Gold worth Rs 1.81 lakh was looted in four separate incidents of chain snatching reported in the city during the last two days. The incidents took place at Sahakarnagar, Bhosari, Khadki and Yerawada.
Sandhya Sharad Gadekar (32) of Shitalbaug complex has lodged a complaint with the Bhosari police station stating that on Saturday around 9 pm, while she was on her way home along with her husband and daughter on motorcycle, two persons on motorcycle near Gandhrva Nagari at Bhosari snatched her gold chain worth Rs 75,000 and fled.

Another incident took place Tavare colony in Sahakarnagar around 1 pm. On Saturday the complainant Kavita Dattatreya Thorve (34) of Alandi had gone to Tavare colony for a wedding ceremony. While returning home, a suspect on motorcycle snatched her gold chain worth Rs 54,000 and fled.
On Friday around 9 pm when 60-year-old Suhas Parab of Aundh road was on her way home, two unidentified persons on motorcycle snatched her gold chain worth Rs 30,000 and fled. The incident took place on Aundh road in Khadki.
In yet another incident which took place on Friday, 45-year-old Kanti Shah of Sainikwadi in Vadgaonsheri fell prey to the chain snatchers. The suspects fled with her gold chain worth Rs 22,500. According to the police on Friday around 2.30 pm Shah was on her way to the doctor for a check-up. The suspects, riding a silver-coloured motorcycle snatched her chain and fled. tnn
