Disgruntled waiter calls Delhi PCR, sends cops on wild goose chase

Pune: An eatery waiter removed from service in Pune a few months ago called the Delhi police control room (PCR) around 3pm on Sunday sending their teams along with Pune police, the National Investigation Agency and other agencies on a wild goose chase in the city.Pune police commissioner Amitesh Kumar said, "The waiter is based in Delhi currently and is mentally disturbed."
Deputy commissioner of police (crime) Nikhil Pingale told TOI: "The waiter called the Delhi PCR and said an eatery owner from Pune's Budhwar Peth was involved in the Delhi bomb blast case (Nov 10, 2025). He said the entire incident was plotted by terror suspects in his house. The man further said that a large amount of RDX was stored in the eatery owner's house and gave his residential address.""Officials of Pune police and Delhi police as well as NIA swung into action. A crime branch team visited the eatery as well as the residence of the owner. Nothing suspicious was found," Pingale said."The Delhi police team reached the waiter's house. They found out that the waiter was unhappy ever since the Pune eatery owner removed him from the job. He was holding a grudge," the DCP said."Delhi police spoke to the waiter and found out he was mentally disturbed," he added.
