16-year-old stabbed to death in Delhi park after brawl over mobile phone
NEW DELHI: A 16-year-old boy was murdered at a DDA park in west Delhi's Moti Nagar on Sunday following an argument over a mobile phone.Police received information around 6.37pm from a hospital about the admission of a teenager, who was declared brought dead. The victim, a resident of Inderlok, had sustained a stab injury below his right shoulder blade.Preliminary investigation suggested that the attackers asked the boy for his mobile phone to make a call. When he refused, saying he had no balance, an argument broke out and escalated into a scuffle. "During the altercation, he was stabbed," a senior officer said, adding that all angles, including robbery, were being investigated.Locals said a similar altercation occurred at the same park later that night, in which a man was stabbed after his shoulder brushed against another person.Around 7.50pm, police received another call from a hospital regarding a second stabbing in the same park. The injured man, Mohammad Danish (25), suffered a stab injury to his back. He was first taken to Acharya Bhikshu Hospital and later referred to AIIMS Trauma Centre There was no response from DDA.
