"Shaikh would charge Rs 20,000 per subject," Kadam said.
Salim Shaikh was earlier arrested on October 15 by the Cantonment police after his name came up during the interrogation of Gaus Shabbir Shaikh, who was arrested by the crime branch for allegedly sending bright students to write examinations in place of others in some colleges in the city.
Salim Shaikh's name cropped up again during the investigation of the re-evaluation scam case registered with the Chatushrungi police station.
"He was untraceable after getting bail from the court. On Tuesday we arrested him on a tip-off," said Kadam.
