The police had then arrested five suspects in the case. Apprehending arrest, the Dodkes had moved the district and sessions court here for seeking anticipatory bail.
The CID had seized several files for conducting investigations in the scam after a complaint was registered with the Swargate police station in 2005.
Special public prosecutor Vijay Savant said that the accused had collected information that their file was seized by the CID and they had given a delude complaint to then additional director general of police Jayant Umranikar that they had been cheated in 2006.
According to Savant, investigations had revealed that the Dodkes had allegedly obtained a fake ULC order through a lawyer in respect of their property at Warje.
Savant further said that the accused, on the basis of the forged ULC order, obtained permission from the Pune Municipal Corporation and had even started the construction work.
The defence lawyer had prayed to release the builders on bail on the grounds that they were cheated. The court accepted the prosecution's argument and rejected the bail applications.
