PIMPRI CHINCHWAD: A private contractor has been appointed to supply water to the Pimpri Chinchwad township at an estimated cost of Rs79.02 crore from
Andra and
Bhama
Askhed
dams
.
The state government has sanctioned a 100 MLD water quota from Andra dam, and 167 MLD from the Bhama-Askhed
dam
till the year 2045, Ladkat said as the population of the city is increasing day by day by an appreciable quantum, the present source of water is not enough to cater to the township.
The 300 MLD (million litres per day) water treatment plant (WTP) would be completed in two phases — 100 MLD in the first phase, and 200 MLD in second phase at Chikhli.
