Actress Priya Marathe loses cancer battle
Pune: Popular actress Priya Marathe, known for her roles in Marathi and Hindi television shows, passed away on Sunday after battling cancer. She was 38.
Marathe was best known for her role in the popular television show Pavitra Rishta. She started her television career with the Marathi serial Ya Sukhanno Ya. Her roles in other serials, including Char Diwas Sasuche, Tu Tithe Me, Almost Sufal Sampoorna, and Yeu Kashi Tashi Me Nandayla, were well received by fans. She also played negative roles in Tu Tithe Me and Tujhech Mi Geet Gaat Aahe.
Marathe is survived by her husband, Shantanu Moghe, also an actor. Her father-in-law, Shrikant Moghe, was a veteran Marathi actor.

Marathe made her television debut in Hindi television with her role of Vidya Bali in Ekta Kapoor's Kasamh Se. She was also seen in the popular daily soap Bade Acche Lagte Hain. Along with television, Marathe also dabbled in films, with Ti Ani Itar in Marathi and Humne Jeena Seekh Liya in Hindi.Marathe is survived by her husband, Shantanu Moghe, also an actor. Her father-in-law, Shrikant Moghe, was a veteran Marathi actor.
