2 children drown in Godavari river
Six children, hailing from Dr Ambedkar Nagar, went for swimming in the river. Since they did not know swimming, they started sinking in waters.
Six children, hailing from Dr Ambedkar Nagar, went for swimming in the river on Thursday. Since they did not know swimming, they started sinking in waters, police said.
However, fire-brigade personnel and locals rushed to the spot and managed to rescue four of them, but could not save the other two.
The deceased were identified as - Suraj Varma (9) and Ravi Laxman Kuchekar (13), police said, adding that the bodies were fished out last evening.
