Tamil Nadu: Body of minister’s nephew found hanging at his house

VILLUPURAM: In a suspected case of suicide, the Roshanai police retrieved a body from the house of law minister C Ve Shanmugham in Tindivanam late on Sunday.
According to police, around 3.30pm some occupants of the house found the body of Lokesh, 26, nephew of the minister, hanging from the ceiling of his room at the minister’s house at Mottai Kounder Street in Tindivanam, and informed the police.
Lokesh, son of Shanmugham’s younger sister Valli, has been staying with the minister for the last 22 years after his mother’s demise.
No suicide note was found, and the body has been sent to Tindivanam Government Hospital for postmortem, said Villupuram SP S Jayakumar. A probe is on.
Meanwhile, supporters of the minister denied entry to reporters and prevented them from taking photos and videos. Police security has been beefed up in the area.
