Pondy vocalist bags medal at Global Music Awards
Puducherry: A Puducherry-based vocalist of an Indian band, ‘TranSwaras’, has bagged a silver medal at the Global Music Awards 2019. The lead vocalist of the band P V Bose bagged the honours in the world fusion category.
TranSwaras released its debut fusion music video on an original composition ‘Anyayamu Seyakura’ of the renowned composer of Carnatic music Tyagaraja.
The composition is a fervent prayer of Tyagaraj to Lord Rama to protect him from all the troubles in his middle age. The video featured the entire band led by Bose and violinist and music programmer Shaju Vaadiyil.
The video was shot at the beautiful Anakulam Samskarika Nilayam in Kozhikode, Kerala.“It is always a great encouragement for independent artists to be appreciated by distinguished peers of the industry and by a renowned body such as Global Music Awards,” said Bose, a Carnatic vocalist, playback singer and an academician based in Puducherry.
He is a senior teaching faculty member at Bharathiar Palkalaikoodam, a government society-run graduate college of performing and fine arts in Puducherry. The video produced by Sisyphus Rocks Films was directed by Ajay Govind. Tanweer Ahmed handed the camera while K Krishnaprasad did the editing.
In keeping with the present trend of lyrical videos, graphics designer Akshay Madan translated the lyrics on the screen to convey the poignant meaning of the song to the audience.
