Hindu Munnani seeks ban on Kamal Haasan’s MNM party

VELLORE: The Hindu Munnani state president, N Muruganandham, on Sunday demanded the election commission to ban Kamal Hassan’s Makkal Needhi Maiam party for the party chief’s ‘Hindu terrorist’ remark made at Aruvakurichi. He was in Vellore to participate in the organisation’s executive committee meet.
Addressing a press meet at a private marriage hall in Sathuvachari, Muruganandham alleged that the MNM leader had made the statement to lure the Christian and Muslim voters.“As we feared his hate speech had incited communal violence at two spots so far in Tamil Nadu. We want appropriate action against the MNM party chief Kamal Hassan and his party to be banned before further violence breaks out in the state which is well known for integrity and peace,” he added.
The Hindu Munnani leader also requested the Intelligence Bureau to identify christian institutions who practise conversion of Hindu children to Christianity under the cover of organizing summer special camps and games.
According to Murugananandham, the christian institutions who organize such special camps try to lure the children by presenting them prizes and gifts thereby slowly sowing seeds of the christian faith in their minds. He added that such individuals and institiutions should be identified and punished.
Muruganandham also demanded stringent action against people who make religious propaganda attracting other religious members to their religion.
Each Indian citizen has rights to worship his or her god and people who try to convert people to other religions should also be punished, he added.
