West Champaran tailor’s daughter excels in Intermediate exam
Bettiah: Defying odds and limited resources, Nasreen Praveen from Borwal Narwal village under Patkhauli police station in Bagaha-II block of West Champaran district secured the third rank in the Bihar Intermediate arts examination.
The daughter of a tailor who works in Delhi, Nasreen pursued her education at the Upgraded Higher Secondary School (10+2) in her maternal village. She prepared primarily from home and supplemented her studies through online classes. Her achievement underscores the power of discipline and determination even in resource-constrained settings.
Coming from a modest background, Nasreen is one among five siblings. Her family, particularly her parents, played a significant role in supporting her academic journey.
Reflecting on her success, Nasreen said she had aspired to become a state topper since childhood. “Whenever I felt my preparation in any subject was lacking, I would stay up late to study. I don’t believe that quality education is limited to cities. With dedication and commitment, students from villages can also achieve great success,” she said.
She attributed her accomplishment to her parents, teachers and consistent hard work despite challenges. Her success has brought immense pride to her family and the local community.
Her elder brother, Arman Ansari, said Nasreen was born at their maternal grandfather Habib Ansari’s home, who worked as a mason. She continued her studies there and went on to score an impressive 477 marks in the Intermediate Arts examination.
Expressing her happiness, her mother Robaida Khatoon said she had never imagined that her daughter would achieve such a milestone and bring recognition to the family. “We are very proud of her achievement,” she said.
Nasreen now aspires to become a judge and serve society, hoping to inspire students from rural backgrounds to pursue their dreams with determination and perseverance.
