Gaya: Vietnam’s minister of foreign affairs, Nguyen Manh Cuong, led a 14-member delegation to the world heritage Mahabodhi Mahavihara in Bodh Gaya on Sunday, to review the scheduled visit of Vietnam President and his spouse to Bodh Gaya on May 7.
The delegation inspected the Mahavihara premises, reviewing the proposed route, designated halt points, ceremonial protocols, religious rituals and arrangements for presentation of mementos. Officials said special emphasis was placed on ensuring seamless coordination for the upcoming high-profile visit.
At the sanctum sanctorum, resident monks conducted special prayers and chanting to invoke blessings for the visiting dignitaries. As a mark of respect, Bodhi leaf mementos were presented to the minister and members of the delegation.
