Vaccination drive for animals begins
Patna: Round-VI of the foot and mouth disease vaccination drive under the National Animal Disease Control Programme began at Bankipur Veterinary Hospital on Friday. Inaugurated by ward councillor Rahul Yadav, the campaign will cover 23 blocks of Patna district till March 4. Around 6.25 lakh livestock will be vaccinated in the primary phase, followed by 69,550 animals in a booster round a month later. Officials also briefed livestock owners on disease prevention. The vaccinations are being provided free of cost to curb spread of virus.
