Businessman Raghvendra Pratap Singh, who had lodged an FIR against jailed Mokama MLA Anant Singh accusing the latter of demanding Rs 10 crore extortion from him, died under mysterious circumstances near Kanhauli under Bihta police station in Patna district late on Wednesday night.

PATNA: Businessman Raghvendra Pratap Singh, who had lodged an FIR against jailed Mokama MLA Anant Singh accusing the latter of demanding Rs 10 crore extortion from him, died under mysterious circumstances near Kanhauli under Bihta police station in Patna district late on Wednesday night.
Singh was on way to home in a motorcycle along with his friend Mukesh Kumar when the incident occurred.

He died on the spot. Whether it was a case of accident or murder is still not clear. The condition of Mukesh, who is undergoing treatment at Danapur hospital, is stated to be critical.
“Singh is the brother of realtor Raju Singh who was kidnapped by the MLA in November last year. The MLA was arrested on June 24 this year,” Patna SSP Vikas Vaibhav said. He did not rule out the possibility of foul play in the mysterious death of Singh. The SSP added, “The condition of Mukesh is still critical. We will get into the bottom of the incident only after recording his statement. Both the victim and his friend were without helmet.”
