Tejashwi misleading people of Bihar: NDA
Patna: BJP and JD(U) reacted sharply to RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav’s latest statements, which combined promises to double panchayat representatives’ honorarium, provide pensions with insurance cover of Rs 50 lakh to former panchayat members and overturn the Waqf (Amendment) Act if his govt comes to power after the assembly elections on Nov 6 and 11.
BJP national spokesman R P Singh said the Waqf Amendment Bill passed by Parliament is now an Act and the state has no role in it. “People like Tejashwi and RJD MLX Qari Shoaib want to support people who want to seize and use Waqf properties. Only Parliament can make any changes to it. Tejashwi is misleading the people of Bihar,” he said. Qari had earlier said those who supported the Bill must be punished.
National general secretary of BJP OBC Morcha, Nikhil Anand, added, “RJD does not believe in the Constitution and Parliament. Their mindset is very dangerous for the country. There is neither anything like triple talaq or Waqf in even Islamic countries and the RJD is misleading the Muslim community.”
JD(U) spokesman and MLC Neeraj Kumar said, “When the Bill has already been passed by Parliament and the Supreme Court has considered it, who has the right to reconsider this? RJD chief Lalu Prasad should answer why they ruined Anjuman Islamia Hall during his regime and how CM Nitish Kumar has transformed it into a palace. CM Nitish works for development of Waqf properties while RJD people only think about making their own properties.”
Turning to Tejashwi’s promises on panchayat benefits, deputy CM Samrat Choudhary said RJD chief Lalu Prasad and his family are known for corruption. JD(U) national working president Sanjay Kumar Jha said, “It does not take anything to say something. His parents ruined Bihar in 15 years and it took CM Nitish Kumar years to fix it. He will take Bihar back to the same position in 20 months where it had reached during his parents’ rule.”
BJP national office-bearer Rituraj Sinha added, “Tejashwi seems very much discouraged. What he says doesn't cost anything, because all this cannot be done. Jungle raj is roaming around in T-shirts and pants in Bihar. He is trying to mislead people by giving them bait.”
JD(U) state spokesman Arvind Nishad said, “Tejashwi has once again proven that he is here to write a fantasy story, not politics. Sometimes govt jobs for every family, sometimes Rs 5 lakh in aid, sometimes double the allowance — now it seems he wants to turn Bihar into a factory of false election promises,” adding that Tejashwi probably doesn’t even know what Bihar’s budget is and how much it will cost.
Prashant Kishor of Jan Suraaj said, “Even when the lion grows old, it will eat meat. Their promise is like the lion luring in the name of providing a bracelet to trap and then kill and eat.”
