Students protest Rs495 fine to fill up cancelled exam form
Ara: At least 200 students of local Sri Jain Kanya High School blocked the Jail road under Town police station area at Ara on Wednesday in protest against slapping of fine of Rs 495 on the matriculation examinees by Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB).
After being criticized from all corner for large-scale unfair means at the matriculation examination, Bhojpur DM Pankaj Kumar Pal had recommended to the BSEB for cancellation of Sanskrit paper examination at Government Girls’ High School and Mahila College held in the first sitting on the last day of the examination on March 23, 2015.

On the recommendation of the DM, BSEB secretary cancelled the examination of both the centres and issued examination communiqué saying that every examinee of the said centres has to file examination form for the cancelled paper and deposit Rs 495 each for it.
The students said unfair means was rampant at all the examination centres due to laxity on the part of the district administration but the DM recommended cancellation of only two examination centres. The students also alleged the school charged Rs 520 from each of them. School principal Rani Kumari had left the school while the DEO was not available for his comment. tnn
