Stop ‘insulting’ me, says Anand Mohan

Patna: With various associations expressing “concern” over his release from jail, former MP Anand Mohan made an appeal to all on Wednesday to stop “insulting” him.
Addressing a function in Araria, Anand said, “It is better to hang me, get me shot dead if I am guilty. But I can’t afford to be insulted every moment like this.”
Anand said a crowd of around 3,500 people was accused of going berserk on the fateful day after which an FIR was registered against 34 persons for murder of the then Gopalganj DM G Krishnaiah.“Of them, 27 were acquitted by the lower court and seven convicted. In the end, another six persons were acquitted while I was jailed for instigating the mob, yet I didn’t complain,” he said.
The former MP seemed annoyed at the way the IAS associations and the Central Secretariat Service Officers’ Association have expressed concern over his release from jail.
On Monday, the Supreme Court had sought response from the Centre and the Bihar government on a plea challenging the state government’s decision to prematurely release Anand from jail.
