Sports takes centre stage at city’s International School
Patna: Kolahal, the Annual Sports Meet, of the International School, Patna, concluded on Sunday, with Gandhi House emerging as the overall champion in the CBSE wing, while Gandhi and Nehru Houses were declared joint winners in the ICSE wing.The event celebrated sportsmanship and fitness, featuring a range of competitions including track races, spoon-and-marble race, balance race, sack race, blindfold race, relay race, and a special joker race for seniors.

Teachers and parents also participated in a friendly tug-of-war, followed by an energetic football match between ICSE and CBSE students.The chief guests included Ajay Kumar (IAS), Samarendra Pratap Singh (Retired Judge, Patna high court), and Sadique Alam, director directorate of fisheries, Odisha. School director Farhat Hasan said, “Sports build discipline, resilience, and teamwork in students. More than victory or defeat, they teach life lessons that prepare them for tomorrow’s challenges.”Poster-making and debate competition: An environmental awareness programme was organised at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bailey Road, where Patna Mayor Sita Sahu inaugurated the event. Students participated enthusiastically in poster-making and debate competitions focused on environmental conservation.Principal chief conservator of forests (environment, forest & climate change department) Prabhat Kumar Gupta, divisional forest officer (Patna park division) Rajeev Kumar, and special deputy director of the animal husbandry department, Zahid Hussain attended as special guests.
