SIT to probe firing on jail warder

CHHAPRA: Saran SP Gaurav Mangala has constituted a special investigation team (SIT) to investigate the incident of firing on Chhapra jail warder Anuj Kumar Sah (36) on late Monday evening. Sah was admitted to the local Sadar hospital and later forwarded to the Patna Medical College and Hospital for better treatment.

“Sah is out of danger and further investigation is going on,” the SP said. Chhapra jail superintendent Radheshyam Prasad said the incident happened at an old postmortem house when the miscreants shot at Sah’s back when he was going to his rented residence after completing his duty. According to the doctors, the bullet had crossed his stomach.

Sah is a resident of Rangila Bigha under the Silao police station in Nalanda district.

Sangeeta Devi, wife of the victim, has alleged that her husband had been receiving threats on his mobile phone for the last few days.
