Patna: Keeping in view the continued heavy rush on Delhi-bound trains from Bihar, the railways has extended the services of clone special trains operating on the Barauni-New Delhi and Darbhanga-New Delhi routes till Jul 16.
East Central Railway chief public relations officer Saraswati Chandra said the Barauni-New Delhi clone special train (02563/02564) and the Darbhanga-New Delhi clone special train (02569/02570) would continue to run daily till July 16. He said the decision was taken in view of rising occupancy and growing passenger demand on these routes during the peak travel season.
To further ease congestion, the railways has also introduced one pair of special trains on the New Delhi–Howrah route. The services commenced on Thursday and will run via the DDU-Patna-Jhajha route.
Saraswati said the additional trains were expected to provide relief to passengers facing difficulties in securing confirmed berths on regular services between New Delhi, Howrah and Patna.
