SBI service point in Nalanda robbed of Rs 2 lakh

Patna: Armed miscreants robbed an SBI Customer Service Point (CSP) in Nalanda district, making off with around Rs 2 lakh on Thursday morning.

Three armed robbers had arrived at the CSP in Mohammadpur village under Nagarnausa police station on a bike around 11am.

Two of them were wearing masks, while one wore a helmet. The masked robbers entered the CSP, while the rider stayed outside near his bike.

Nagarnausa station house officer (SHO) Shashiranjan Kumar Mishra said once inside, the robbers overpowered the CSP operator, Sandeep Patel, at gunpoint and stole approximately Rs 2 lakh from a drawer.

“After committing the crime, the criminals shut the CSP’s shutter from outside and escaped towards Ramghat on the motorcycle. The operator later raised an alarm after lifting the shutter. By then, the criminals had fled,” he said.

The police have started an investigation into the robbery. The CCTV camera footage from the area is being examined, and forensic experts collected evidence from the scene. “The police are conducting raids at the suspicious locations to nab the accused,” the SHO said.
