Patna: State Bank of India (SBI), Patna circle, organised a mega credit camp for Jeevika self-help groups in Motihari on Thursday, where loans worth Rs 350 crore were disbursed to groups across the circle.
More than 1,700 Jeevika didis participated in the camp, while several branches of the bank also joined the programme through video conferencing. As part of the initiative, symbolic cheques were distributed among the beneficiaries. The regional business office in Motihari contributed Rs 51 crore to the total disbursement.
The event also featured financial services support, with 10 customer service points conducting re-KYC, KYC and other related banking work for beneficiaries.
Ten stalls were set up by Jeevika groups to display handmade products prepared by women members.
On the occasion, SBI also donated an ambulance to the Red Cross Society in Motihari as part of its social responsibility initiative.
