Samriddhi Yatra of CM to resume from tomorrow

Patna: CM Nitish Kumar will resume his third leg of ‘Samriddhi Yatra’ from March 10, an official said on Sunday. The yatra was launched on Jan 16 from Bettiah in West Champaran district, but was discontinued because of the month-long budget session of the state legislature.

In a letter issued to the additional chief secretaries, principal secretaries, director general of police, divisional commissioners, district magistrates, and senior police officers, including SSPs and SPs; cabinet secretariat department’s additional chief secretary Arvind Kumar Choudhary said the CM will review ongoing govt projects and schemes during the yatra beginning Tuesday. The letter, sent to top state administration officials on Sunday, also said Nitish will inspect ongoing projects as part of the tour.


According to the communication, all additional chief secretaries of departments concerned, the DGP, and senior officials responsible for the projects will participate in the review meetings held during the yatra.

The third leg of the Samriddhi Yatra is scheduled from March 10 to 14. During this phase, the CM is set to cover several districts, including Supaul, Madhepura, Araria, Kishanganj, Purnia, Katihar, Saharsa, Khagaria, Begusarai, and Sheikhpura.

In the first phase, held from Jan 16 to 24, Nitish covered West Champaran, East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Gopalganj, Saran, Siwan, Muzaffarpur, and Vaishali. The second leg ran from Jan 27 to 29 and focused on the Darbhanga division, with events held in Madhubani on Jan 27 and Darbhanga on Jan 28. It concluded in Samastipur on Jan 29.

During the Samriddhi Yatra, the CM reviews development works, inaugurates new schemes, and interacts with the public across districts, with the stated aim of assessing policy implementation at the grassroots-level.

Nitish had earlier launched a state-wide ‘Pragati Yatra’ in Dec 2024, which continued until Feb 2025.
