Samrat: Foundation for Muzaffarpur airport project to be laid soon
Patna: CM Samrat Choudhary on Tuesday said all formalities for the construction of an airport in Muzaffarpur have been completed and the foundation stone for the project would be laid soon.Addressing a Sahyog camp on the Higher Secondary School premises in Gosaipur under Motipur block of Muzaffarpur district, Samrat said the state govt has finalised the reopening of three sugar mills. He added that if a fourth sugar mill is established, it will be set up in Motipur.The CM also announced plans to start 25 sugar mills across Bihar by 2030. In another major announcement, he said a new satellite township, Tirhut, would be developed on 22,000 acres near Muzaffarpur.Earlier, while addressing a Sahyog camp at Samas Bujurg panchayat under Barbigha block in Sheikhpura district, Samrat said the foundation stone for a medical college and hospital in Sheikhpura would be laid shortly. He also assured full financial support from the govt for the development, beautification and construction of the Vishnu Dham temple in the district.During his visits to Muzaffarpur and Sheikhpura, the CM launched 171 development projects worth Rs 338 crore.
In Muzaffarpur, he inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 109 schemes worth Rs 288 crore, while in Sheikhpura he unveiled foundation plaques for 62 projects worth Rs 50 crore.On the proposed transfer policy for govt schoolteachers, Samrat said the process was underway. He said women teachers would be posted in panchayats near their own panchayats, while male teachers would be posted in schools located in blocks near their home blocks. The move, he said, is aimed at reducing difficulties faced by teachers and ensuring timely and quality education for students.He also announced a proposed highway connecting Buxar and Bhagalpur. A feasibility report is currently being prepared for the project, which is expected to pass through Buxar, Jagdishpur, Arwal, Jehanabad, Nalanda, Rajgir, Sheikhpura and Jamui before reaching Bhagalpur.
