RSS reaches over 1crore homes in Bihar during centenary year
Patna: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has reached more than one crore homes in Bihar during its centenary year, which began on the day of Vijayadashmi in 2025, a senior functionary of the Sangh said here on Tuesday.
Addressing a joint press conference in the state capital, the Sangh’s Uttar-Poorv (Bihar-Jharkhand) kshetra karyavah Mohan Singh and Dakshin Bihar prant sanghchalak Rajkumar Sinha said RSS volunteers established dialogue and contact by distributing Sangh literature and pamphlets in 84 lakh homes across Bihar during the 21-day-long extensive “Grih Sampark Abhiyan”. Besides these 84 lakh homes, more than 10 lakh homes are linked with the Sangh’s active volunteers.
They added that more than 10.41 lakh citizens attended the ‘Hindu Sammelans’ organised at different places in Bihar to mark the Sangh’s centenary year. “The ‘Hindu Sammelan’ programme is still ongoing in the state,” they said.
While sharing information about the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha meeting held from March 13 to 15 in Samalkha (Haryana), they said the Sangh’s ‘shakhas’ are continuously expanding across the country, particularly in Bihar.
“In the country, altogether 88,949 ‘shakhas’ are functioning at 55,683 locations. Thus, in the past one year, 3,943 new locations were added and the number of shakhas increased by 5,820 in the country,” they said.
“If we talk about Bihar, in Uttar Bihar and Dakshin Bihar, a total of 2,308 daily ‘shakhas’ were functioning last year. This year, their number has increased to 2,575. Similarly, the number of weekly ‘milans’ has also increased from 850 to 1,076 and the number of ‘Sangh Mandalis’ has increased from 272 to 356. Thus, the direct work of the Sangh in Bihar has reached 4,007,” the Bihar-Jharkhand kshetra karyavah Mohan Singh said.
They also informed that the Sangh’s centenary year programmes began on Oct 2, 2025, on the day of Vijayadashmi in Nagpur. “In the Sangh centenary year, two types of programmes were planned; one aimed at organisational expansion and the other at organising the virtuous force of society for goodwill and harmony. From this perspective, the extensive ‘Grih Sampark Abhiyan’ and the ‘Hindu Sammelan’ are currently underway across the country. The Sampark Abhiyan has reached 10 crore homes and 3,90,000 villages across the country. Similarly, ‘Hindu Sammelans’ have been organised at more than 36,000 locations across the country so far,” they said.
