Muzaffarpur/Gopalganj: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has hit back at Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad for calling him an outsider and questioned why the duo is quiet on Sonia Gandhi, thereby raking up her foreign origin issue which has been almost ‘dead’ for last 10 years.
Addressing a mammoth crowd in Muzaffarpur on Friday, the last day of campaigning for Round IV, NaMo said, “With your blessing, I have become the PM of India, not of Pakistan, Bangladesh or Sri Lanka.

Nitish and Lalu still call me an outsider. Can a PM be an outsider for (any part of) his country? Why don’t Nitish and Lalu say anything about Madam Sonia (Gandhi)?” he asked, in an oblique reference to the Congress president’s Italian origin and Nitish-Lalu’s poll alliance with the Congress.
Taking a dig at the trio’s Mahagathbandhan for asking him about the NDA government’s achievements in last 17 months, NaMo asked, “Why are the ‘Mahaswarthbandhan’ leaders not giving the report card of their feats and failures in the last 60 years of rule in Bihar.”
He also assured people to give a report on his accomplishments and failures when he would seek re-election in 2019. “I will give details of every day’s work and every penny spent. I would also share with you details of the shortcomings and the reasons for them,” he said and added he would not tell lies to hide failures as is done by “egoist” Nitish.
Slamming Nitish for not confiscating the property of the high and mighty like Lalu Prasad and his former cabinet colleague Awadhesh Prasad Kushwaha, the PM said the CM was making false claims about dealing with corruption with a strong hand. “If you have the guts, why don’t you confiscate the property of Lalu who has been convicted (in a fodder scam case) and Kushwaha who was seen taking money in a sting video?” roared NaMo amid thunderous applause from the crowd.
