Bettiah: Jan Suraaj founder
Prashant Kishor on Sunday launched “Bihar Nav Nirman Yatra” from Bagaha in West Champaran, reiterating his organisation’s commitment to building a “strong, honest and accountable political alternative” in Bihar.
After addressing party workers and supporters, Kishor said Jan Suraaj has remained active at the grassroots even after the elections and is currently expanding its organisational network across all districts under the Bihar Nav Nirman Abhiyan. He said the ‘yatra’ aims to reconnect with former associates, induct new members and strengthen the party’s organisational structure across the state.

Kishor urged PM Narendra Modi, Union home minister Amit Shah and CM Nitish Kumar to fulfil the election promise of providing Rs2 lakh to women in Bihar. He said Jan Suraaj would launch a door-to-door campaign to ensure that women receive the promised amount and warned that the organisation would take the issue to the public if the govt failed to deliver.
Commenting on reports of strain within the RJD-Congress alliance, Kishor said the people of Bihar had already defined the political roles of all parties through the electoral mandate. “The NDA has been given the responsibility to govern, the RJD to sit in opposition, and Jan Suraaj to work on public issues within society,” he said, adding that his organisation would continue to discharge this responsibility with sincerity.
Kishor said Jan Suraaj was not pursuing politics for power, but as a platform to rebuild Bihar and fight for the rights of its people.
