Oppn rookies to take on NDA veterans in 3rd phase of polls

Patna: With curtains coming down on a carnivalesque campaigning for the third phase of Lok Sabha elections in the state on Sunday, all eyes are on five constituencies – Khagaria, Supaul, Araria, Madhepura and Jhanjharpur – where polling will be held on Tuesday.The third phase of polls in the state, campaigning for which saw a change of tack by netas of the ruling dispensation as well as the opposition, is essentially a contest between veterans and rookies with caste factor holding the key. While NDA has given tickets to sitting MPs in four constituencies, the opposition INDIA bloc has fielded debutants on all the five seats.In Khagaria, both NDA and INDIA bloc have fielded first-timers. Rajesh Verma of LJP (RV) is in fray against CPI-M’s Sanjay Kumar in Khagaria. In Supaul, the NDA has reposed faith on sitting JD(U) MP Dileshwar Kamait. He is pitted against RJD’s Chandrahas Chaupal, who is contesting the Lok Sabha elections for the first time.
