Buxar: District magistrate (DM) Sahila on Monday confirmed that there is no shortage of cooking gas in Buxar district. “LPG supply is being maintained smoothly through 27 gas agencies linked to Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum. A total of 83,649 gas cylinders were distributed between March 13 and 29,” she said.As of March 29, agencies had a stock of 2,630 cylinders, ensuring stable supply. Against the average daily demand of 6,419 cylinders, around 5,889 cylinders are being supplied daily. Currently, 24,057 bookings are pending but are being processed quickly under administrative supervision. The average delivery delay stands at 4.1 days, and efforts are ongoing to reduce this backlog further.The DM assured that LPG supply matches demand and urged people not to panic or gather unnecessarily at gas agencies. Regular inspections are being conducted, and strict action is being taken against black marketing and hoarding. A district control room has been set up to address consumer complaints.
