Patna: There will be no compromise on quality as paved roads are the backbone of the rural economy, deputy CM
Bijendra Prasad Yadav said after assuming charge as the minister of the rural works department (RWD) on Friday.
Yadav inspected the departmental headquarters at Visvesvaraya Bhawan, where he reviewed the progress and operational mechanisms of the department’s activities in detail. Senior officials and engineers welcomed him.
Speaking on the occasion, he emphasised the significance of the RWD in the development of the state. He said the department serves as a pivotal pillar in the holistic development of
Bihar.
The deputy CM further emphasised that ensuring seamless and high-quality road connectivity to remote rural areas is absolutely essential in a state with an agrarian-based economy. “To boost farmers’ incomes and empower rural markets, it is imperative that agricultural produce reaches larger markets safely and securely,” he said.
He assured that the construction of rural roads across the state would not only be executed at an accelerated pace but that special attention would also be paid to their quality and long-term durability.
