Nitish inspects major projects in city, asks officials to expedite work
Patna: CM Nitish Kumar on Saturday inspected several under-construction projects in the state capital and directed officials to expedite work to ensure early completion.
Accompanied by water resources minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, the CM reviewed construction of Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan Park, also known as Bihar Gaurav Park, being developed near the ‘Samadhi Sthal’ of the country’s first President Dr Rajendra Prasad at Bans Ghat. The park is being developed in honour of Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan.
During the inspection, Nitish said the park should be developed in a better manner, given its location near the Samadhi Sthal of Deshratna Dr Rajendra Prasad. He said the project would greatly benefit residents as it lies between the Samadhi Sthal on one side and the JP Ganga Path on the other, offering a scenic view.
According to a communique issued by the CMO, the Bihar Gaurav Park is being constructed over 10 acres between the Samadhi Sthal and JP Ganga Path. The theme park will showcase Bihar’s rich history and culture, featuring inspirational stories of eminent personalities such as Aryabhatt, Chanakya, Samrat Ashok, Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan and Dashrath Manjhi. It will also depict Bihar’s architectural heritage, including Nalanda, Vikramshila, religious stupas, temples and mausoleums. Food and beverage facilities, a playground for tourists, and a grand memorial complex at the existing memorial site in memory of Dr Rajendra Prasad are also planned.
The CM also inspected the new Mukti Dham complex at Bans Ghat and reviewed the facilities there. The Bans Ghat crematorium has been renovated on about 4.5 acres, with civic, religious and cultural amenities added, the communique said.
Nitish further inspected the old crematorium complex at Bans Ghat and directed that it be developed in a better manner, with all facilities made available in line with the newly constructed Mukti Dham.
The CM also reviewed construction work of Patna Haat near Gandhi Maidan and inspected the promenade being built from Sabhyata Dwar to Collectorate Ghat. Officials informed him that the promenade will include pedestrian pathways, streetlights, seating areas, umbrella-shaped pillars and other visitor amenities. Nitish also directed officials to complete all projects expeditiously so city residents can benefit from them.
