NCC selection begins at Buxar college
Buxar: Government Engineering College, Buxar, on Thursday held both written and physical examinations for the selection of National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets. Seventy students took part in the process, and results will be announced next week, after which the first batch of 54 cadets will be inducted.Principal Ram Naresh Rai underlined the significance of NCC training in shaping the youth. “It fosters discipline, leadership, patriotism, and a spirit of national service,” he said, adding that the programme would help students build physical and mental resilience while inspiring them to contribute to nation-building.NCC coordinator Ramdayal Kushwaha was credited with playing a pivotal role in setting up the unit at the college and raising its profile in the region. His efforts, described as tireless, were said to have been crucial in making the initiative a reality. Kushwaha also served on the selection committee and supervised the process.The selection is open to students up to 26 years of age. The examinations were conducted under the supervision of Colonel Ritesh Ranjan, commanding officer of the 30 Bihar Battalion NCC, Buxar. Chief junior commissioned officer Nitesh Kumar and Subedar Mahesh Prasad were also present to support the evaluation.
