Muzaffarpur BJP members resign in protest

MUZAFFARPUR/PATNA: In an open revolt against the central leadership, almost all the office-bearers of district BJP resigned from their posts on Saturday to protest the denial of ticket to sitting MP Captain Jainarain Prasad Nishad from Muzaffarpur parliamentary seat.

<div class="section1"><div class="Normal">MUZAFFARPUR/PATNA: In an open revolt against the central leadership, almost all the office-bearers of district BJP resigned from their posts on Saturday to protest the denial of ticket to sitting MP Captain Jainarain Prasad Nishad from Muzaffarpur parliamentary seat.<br /><br />In a joint letter to BJP president, 38 officer-bearers have demanded from the central leadership to allow them to set up their district president Suresh Sharma to contest from Muzaffarpur as they are unable to tolerate the monopoly of the JD(U) to usurp both Muzaffarpur and Vaishali LS seats.<br /><br />Former district president of the party Lal Mohan Prasad Singh also resigned from BJP''s national executive as its member.

Earlier, district BJP president Suresh Sharma had said supporters of sitting MP Captain Jainarain Prasad Nishad are not ready to campaign for NDA convener George Fernandes in Muzaffarpur.<br /><br />Meanwhile, Captain Nishad joined RJD on Saturday.<br /><br /><formid=526372></formid=526372></div> </div>
