on Monday emphasised the need of multidisciplinary research for a better understanding of various issues related to environmental conservation.
Inaugurating a 12-day refresher course in chemistry organised by the UGC-HRD centre of Patna University (PU) at Patna Science College here,

pointed out that the National Education Policy, 2020 has also stressed the need for adopting a multi-disciplinary approach while framing a curriculum of a particular course.
He also pleaded for generating baseline data in different fields with respect to Bihar so that a model could be developed on aspects related to pollution, solid waste management and biomedical waste management. “Chemistry plays a significant role in all these fields,” he said.
Ghosh called upon the teachers to develop in students the inquisitiveness and curiosity towards analytical research so that they may become good scientists in future and work for the scientific development of the country.
