Mahavir Vatsalya Hospital gets NABH accreditation
Patna: Mahavir Vatsalya Hospital on Monday was granted NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers) accreditation. A statutory body team under the Union govt had inspected the hospital in Dec last year, following which the accreditation was given.NABH accreditation is awarded after the hospital meets the standards of medical facilities, patient care, cleanliness, safety, quality of doctors, and medical equipment. An official email confirming the accreditation was sent to the hospital on Monday.Mahavir Vatsalya Hospital director, Dr Rajiv Ranjan Prasad, appreciated the efforts of Acharya Kunal Kishor in the health sector and his service to the people. Dr Prasad said Mahavir Vatsalya Hospital was the first charitable hospital in North India to receive NABH accreditation. The hospital, especially caters to the needs of children, provides healthcare facilities like heart surgery, general medicine, and orthopaedic treatment. It has a 200-bed facility, and 400 to 500 patients, mainly children, visit the hospital daily in the OPD.Justice PK Sinha, chairman of the governing body of Mahavir Vatsalya Hospital, congratulated the doctors and the entire team of the hospital for receiving NABH accreditation. Justice PK Sinha said it was Acharya Kishore Kunal's dream that Mahavir Vatsalya Hospital should receive NABH accreditation. "Today his dream has come true. The recognition of NABH is given after the hospital meets the standards of medical facilities, patient care, cleanliness, safety, quality of doctors, and medical equipment," he said, adding that the team for inspection came just a day before Acharya Kishor Kunal's death.
