Liquor unit unearthed

Patna: The excise and prohibition department on Wednesday unearthed a liquor manufacturing unit operating from a house in Baratpur under Didarganj police station area in Patna district. Acting on a tip-off, officials intercepted a vehicle and recovered empty bottles. Further investigation led them to the house, where they found a complete set-up for producing and packaging illicit liquor. Around 40 litres of spirit, a packaging machine and 335 empty bottles were seized. The accused fled, and the vehicle was confiscated. Efforts are on to trace those involved.
